<content mode="escaped" type="text/html" xml:base="http://www.schvtrn.com/frayletee/the_fray.html" xml:space="preserve">&lt;br&gt;These are some malformed ponderings issued from the mouth of Dr. Pik Wunderlas, outsider musicologist and cosmic theoritician at Chicago's Beef Station:&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;4 elements&lt;br /&gt;Musical elements&lt;br /&gt;Neo Classical Grecian Music Theory&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Music is air worship.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why else would one want to excite its particles?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is the human tribute to an element without which we could not survive longer than... [holds breath a moment]... oh, three minutes. Hence, music is immediate, instantaneous, vital, surprising. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Water, however, you could survive without for... [takes a sip of water] a few days. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dance is the art form which is dedicated to water. Painting and sculpture sculpture are earth worship. Fire worship is warfare, or movies, or fireworks etc.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Air vibrational moulding creates audible sound.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fire is the Frictional element with which a musician excites the string, percusses, burns energy at at a cellular level in order to blow a note.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Water is that which lubricates the joints and bulks the muscles to move the instrument which excites the air.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Earth is the instrument itself: wood, metal etc. are of the earth, rather than clay trombones, mud pianos, dirt tamborines, &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But what of ice-drums? Fire flutes? Or light harps? Or the music of the moon?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br&gt;</content>
