Happy BethDay to Finn
Seeing as how it's 'my memories of Miss Beth' day in blog-land {see Ridder, quite possibly the world's best Silly Blog}, I shall take this opportunity to, weddings and funerals style, to pay tribute to our glorious front-lass...
Aherm...
For the past twelve months or so {with a brain like mine, frankly, it could be twelve weeks, or even twelve days...} it has been my pleasure {the vomit-inducing kind...} to have Beth as a 'musical partner in crime'. Or grime.
As a result of our carefully researched experiments in combining shouting, drum machines, Pop and Crisps, Cake, booze, crying and other stuff, I have done more puking in the past few months than I have since my cider swigging early teens. I could blame her brownies, but that wouldn't be true. I have also made a lot of fun music, and had a load of fun making that music.
Punk Rock Chick of Doom by night, favourite cake-making aunt by day.
A fucking brilliant voice, excellent taste in music - and footwear, brilliant company, likes Black Books, lives for Kate Bush and Curve. What more could you ask for in a band-mate?
Patrick 'The Saint' Crean, he of the bass guitar and shavey head, has actually been drafted in as a sort of sick-buffer as much as for his bass playing abilities. I thought that if we had a 'sensible' third member we in turn would perhaps behave in a more sensible, sober manner. And plus the fact that 'threesome' sounds funnier than 'duo'. Ha ha... {S.W.I.D.T. ?}
So thanks to Beth for the sick. And the larks. And here's to a future hopefully filled with cake, shouting through guitar effects, piss-poor corner-shop quality wine, and sick. Bring it on.
Happy birthday Beth. You really do Rock xxx.

The Pleasure Unit Thursday 28th July 2005
Hello you. What news? This Thursday, which is a day of the week, falling between Wednesday and Friday, we are back in London playing @ The Pleasure Unit which is in Bethnal Green. The 'box flyer' for it can be found here. We'll be playing a brand new song. We'll be playing older songs as well, obviously.
Plus on Saturday, which is part of something called 'Week End', we're back in Brighton playing @ CuBar, which is a bar, by the sea.
The night will also feature the fucking brilliant Diamond Family Archive and Rat:Daddy, who I'm sure will be brilliant too. The Steam Age, who already knows he is brilliant, will also be spinning some tunes in a Wedding D.J. stylee.
You won't need a ticket to get it. It is free to get in, and there really will be cake this time. We'll be playing at about 10.00 pm I think. Not sure what time cake will be served.
In other nudes, I've been putting a SchVtrn podcast together and that should be available soon. Also there is going to be a makeover of this here Web Site so that it will understand you better. It will actually look a lot more like a Web Site, and you will be able to find stuff. Yeah.
The Fennec Foxes pictured are of no relevance whatsoever. I just think they look ace.

Broken Things
Well i haven't written in ages. i may as well take this time while i'm supposed to be on holiday but i'm ill to write something, while i munch on this chocolate muffin & listen to Fiona Apple's new album, Extraordinary Machine.
Sorry, new not album! what's going on, can't someone with such an unreal voice release an album now? compared to the soulless, bland & totally unconvincing songs & voices that they're terrorising the charts with at the moment. I love this woman's voice - the sex just drips off it - amazing!! and some really fantastic rythms going on.
anyway, who else can i rant on about. oh yeah, if you fancy some online reading try Disconcertia for some original short stories. i'll get a link to it from the site as well for when you need to read!
The gig at the Playroom a couple of weeks ago was pretty good. it was nice to be playing with some more like minded people than last time - and no spinal tap muso bass players!! The last band Sound Corruption's set was cut short which was a real shame. i really loved their sound & having listened to the cd afterwards they are well worth checking out. Patrick made it down from Glastonbury in good time, but i did feel sorry for him missing all that mud - now that sounds like serious fun!
Diamond Family Archive were playing at the Hanbury ballroom last sunday. i hadn't been there before, but it is such a lovely venue. The room is fantastic & the sound was great.
anyway, what a pointless rant again from yours truly. still, deal with it!!
Bye

Keeping busy?

In otherness, there's a new review {you'll need to scroll doon a bit} of our Kilburn gig @ the Allmanna web site. It also happens to be the 'last ever' AllManna this friday.
